Thank you for having faith. Year of the Quiet Sun prints are indeed as beautiful as we had hoped and we think you will love them as we do - a tribute to Ludwig Zeller with special thanks to each of you for believing in them and helping with your Indiegogo contribution.

*Indiegogo purchases were to be sent with mailing costs additional to the price you have already paid for your prints... Update on Year of the Quiet Sun

Hello to all of our supporters, sponsors, and friends of Year of the Quiet Sun.

Here is an update on the progress of the project:

We are planning a launch party and reception for the second half of January at the Someone storefront on Dundas West.

We are a little behind schedule for the project, as recent business developments at Someone have necessitated the concentration of energies on re-locating some of the equipment to a new home. Because we remain invested in making Year of the Quiet Sun a project of the highest possible quality, we don’t want to rush the printing of the exquisite collages. The project demands our full attention, and we are committed to giving it just that: our full attention.

While this means that the prints will not be ready in time for holiday gift-giving, our commitment is to create a card of the highest quality for you, and/or for you to give to those you are planning to gift the prints to, and can go “under the tree.”

The January launch will be a not-to-be-missed event. Printing keepsakes right before your eyes on a vintage 1960’s FAG Standard proofing press, a cash bar, music, and mingling surrounded by hand-made letterpress ephemera, will make the launch a memorable occasion.

Meanwhile, those of you located in Toronto, who are looking for holiday shopping inspiration, can find exquisite holiday cards, gifts, and other Someone Editions merchandise at the Craft Ontario Holiday Pop-Up Sale.

Thank you for your support, and we look forward to seeing you all at the launch in January.

Someone Edition announces Gold and Silver Sponsors for Year of the Quiet Sun.

We are pleased to welcome Dr Foil as a Gold Sponsor for Year of the Quiet Sun. Dr Foil is providing duplexing services for the construction of the folio cases. His willingness to assist is a testament to the solid trade relationships we build while producing work people are proud to be part of. Many thanks to Dan Skelhorn, and the whole team at Dr Foil!

Dr Foil joins Gold Sponsor KDS Graphics, who will be providing the photopolymer plates for printing, and Silver Sponsor St. Armand Paper Mill, who are providing the paper at a reduced rate. Thank you to all of our sponsors and funders for their support of this project.

As you may know, we are getting ready to be featured in the Craft Ontario Holiday Pop-up Sale, November 28 – December 24, 2014. Here at Someone Editions we are excited to welcome our new social media guru, Beatriz Sanchez, who send out updates and photos as Year of the Quiet Sun comes to fruition.

We have ordered test plates, and printing begins this week!

Year of the Quiet Sun takes the collages of Ludwig Zeller and re-creates them as letterpress objets d’arts. The set of three prints will be presented in a luxurious hand-made folio of acid-free paper, along with a title page and a colophon. The prints can be purchased individually or as the full set of three. Since this is a limited edition production, there will only be 26 copies of the complete folio, 10 of which include Zeller’s original collages.

A sincere thank you to each and every supporter of Someone Editions' production of the Year of the Quiet Sun by Ludwig Zeller!

Progress Update on Year of the Quiet Sun

Hello Indiegogo Backers!

Thanks to you, we have successfully raised over $2300 to create our upcoming letterpress art folio, Year of the Quiet Sun.

Currently, we are finalizing what kind of paper the folio will be printed on, with a sponsorship from Papeterie Saint-Armand. We also have sponsorship from KDS Graphics, who will produce the photopolymer plates that the letterpress is printed from.

We will keep you updated as the work on the folio develops. We can’t wait to get printing, and know that you can’t wait to get your hands on the finished prints.

The edition is not yet sold out, so let your letterpress-loving friends know there is still time to get an original print of their own. With your referral, they can also purchase them at the discounted Indiegogo price. Individual prints are available at $90 (full price $110), and the set of three for $230 (full price $290). To purchase, please contact Deborah Barnett: This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it
